Taibad registers threefold surge in Ostrich chick exports to Afghanistan
Khorasan Razavi - The governor of Taibad, a city in eastern Iran adjacent to Afghanistan, announced a threefold rise in ostrich chick exports to Afghanistan this year, marking a significant boost in regional trade and livestock production.
Hossein Jamshidi said that 20 consignments, comprising 2,220 one-month-old ostrich chicks from South and Khorasan Razavi provinces, were exported through the Dogharoun border crossing, generating more than 37 billion rials in foreign exchange revenue.
The official noted that ostrich farming and exports contribute substantially to employment and local production, stressing the need for stronger institutional support to sustain and expand this growing industry.
